Now im not saying I disagree with how the SPCA is set up or how
the oraganisation is bad. No, not at all. I really do appreciate the
hard work that the volunteers and staff do to help these
animals improve their lives whether they get adopted out
or stay at the shelters.
However, my biggest problem is actually the cost of which they want
for a dog or cat. Now, as most humans that ive met, money is somewhat
of an issue but not as much as others who do not work. I took the time
out and flipped through the adoptions page of my local shelter and saw soo
many lovelies that just stole my heart. But the one problem, the one thing
that just drives me away from the shelter is how much they want for every dog or
cat, dispite the size.
My local shelter asks for $95 for dogs and $45 for cats. As much as id love to
give one or two of them a home, I cant seem to find myself to EVER pay that much
for a dog I cant even breed. It sorta sucks because im sure thats why lots of people
dont buy shelter pups.
Im not saying I would never adopt a dog from a shelter but never would I pay that
much for a future best friend and family member. Just saw that and wanted to get that
off my chest. I didnt intend to anger anyone or anything like that, but if I did then..idk. But
again I understand having the high price range to avoid people over buying each pet, but
sheesh though xP
